Sweet Chilli and Sesame Tofu

Sweet, sticky and soooo satisfying! A bowl of our crispy Sweet Chilli and Sesame Tofu will have you grinning ear to ear. This dish will become a weekly favourite with the family.

Turban Tips

For extra flavour, let the tofu soak in the soy sauce for 30 minutes.

You can also add some flavour by adding ginger and garlic to the sauce.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 block of firm tofu cut into cubes
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil

For the Sauce 

  • 1 tbsp Turban Chopsticks Sambal
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp corn starch 
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1 tbsp of sugar or sweetener 
  • 1 tbsp of sesame seeds

METHOD

  1. Combine cubed tofu with sesame oil, soy sauce and corn starch. Air fry for 10 minutes at 200 degrees or pan fry until crispy.
  2. In a saucepan, combine Turban Chopsticks sambal, soy sugar and sesame seeds. 
  3. In a separate bowl, mix corn starch with cold water until dissolved. Add into saucepan and continue stirring.
  4. Toss crispy tofu in the sweet chilli sauce and serve on a bed of rice.
