We do not use any fillers in our curry pastes.

Are your products vegan?
Yes, the Turban Chopsticks range is 100% vegan. No animal or dairy is used in the making of our products. Some of our recipes suggest the addition of yogurt or butter, however this is completely optional and vegan substitutes for these ingredients are great in this instance. There is no chicken used in our Butter Chicken Curry Paste, which has been designed work as an excellent Indian masala paste and curry base for both a Traditional Butter Chicken Curry or Vegetarian alternative.

What other ways can I use Turban Chopsticks’ curry pastes?
As all our curry pastes are natural and preservative free it is safe (and delicious) to eat them straight out of the jar! Our pastes are very versatile and can be used as a spread, dip, marinade, stir fry sauce, soup broth base, and, of course, to make a curry. Check our website regularly for new recipes and ways to use your curry pastes, or sign up to our Curry Club newsletter. You can also send your creations to food@turbanchopsticks.com.au and we may feature it on our blog or social media.

Can you freeze Turban Chopsticks meals once cooked?
Yes, all our meal kits and curry pastes freeze for up to 3 months and taste just as delicious once thawed and reheated. We recommend adding some fresh vegetables to your reheated meal, such as spinach leaves or cherry tomatoes, to bring the dish alive again. You will love how easy and convenient this is!

Where is the best place to store my curry pastes and meal kits?
Turban Chopsticks curry pastes and meal kits are best stored in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. As the products are natural, they may discolour in direct sunlight.

Are your products suitable for pregnant women?
Yes, as our products are created to be clean, natural and free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives so they are fine for pregnant women to eat. Our products will provide pregnant mums and families healthy, nutritious meals that are quick and easy to prepare during this period.

Be careful to cook the curries and dishes thoroughly (especially when cooking meat or fish). If in doubt, check with your doctor, as our specialty lies in meals and curries.

Do your products contain preservatives, additives or MSG?
No, we do our best to avoid all preservatives, additives or msg in all our products. Read more about our stance on product ingredients and food here (link to about page on this topic). Only the Tropical Thai Coconut Rice Kit contains a preservative (named Preservative 220), which is used to preserve the coconut shreds and pineapple pieces.

Do you use any local ingredients in our products?
Yes, we a passionate about supporting our brilliant local producers and will source local first where we can! We also source our packaging locally and try, where possible, to support other local WA businesses.

We currently source the following fresh product ingredients from local farmers in Perth, WA: red ripe tomatoes, brown onions, fresh ginger, fresh green basil, green coriander.

As for our dry ingredients, coriander seeds and red lentils (masoor dahl) are sourced from Victorian farmers in Australia, and Lupin Flakes are sourced from West Australian farmers.

How many people do your products serve?
Our meal kits serve 3-4 people, and the curries serve 6-8 people generously (and deliciously). The Little Bites cater for 6-8 people per box and are fantastic served as an entree, snack or tasty addition to a meal.

If you are cooking for less than the required amount, we suggest to cook the whole dish and save some for exciting leftovers, or freeze the extras in convenient portions.
